Our response to COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, our thoughts are with those who are impacted. Our foremost contribution in the fight against COVID-19 is using our science to develop solutions.

We are also doing everything we can to ensure the health and well-being of patients, customers, employees and communities.

Consistent with our values and role as a science-led global healthcare company, we are continuing to make decisions informed by the latest science and in consultation with leading health authorities.

Since the pandemic began, we have been seeking ways to harness our scientific expertise and technology to make a difference. Globally we are working with several partners to develop potential COVID-19 vaccines and treatments as quickly and safely as possible

Locally, GSK Nigeria is actively supporting the government’s efforts at managing COVID-19 in Nigeria with donations through industry associations including Nigerian Representatives of Overseas Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (NIROPHARM) COVID-19 Support Funds and the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association of Nigeria (PMG-MAN). We worked with these associations to donate PPEs to protect frontline health workers across Nigeria.

We have continued our support with the direct donation of PPEs to the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and Medical Guild Lagos to provide much needed protection to health workers.

Also, GSK Global through the INSPIRING Project is implementing a 200million COVID-19 intervention support program with our partner SAVE THE CHILDREN in Nigeria to support efforts geared at ensuring hospitals and appropriate health facilities in Jigawa and Lagos State are equipped with functional oxygen delivery systems, readily accessible at the point of use.

Through our partnership with Save the Children, we have  donated medical equipment, instruments and consumables worth  to 30 health facilities in Ikorodu LGA of Lagos state and 35 health facilities in Jigawa state.
